Frequently Asked Questions

How long do LED extensions last?2026-03-22T21:26:02+00:00

Depending on the condition of your own eyelashes and the method of aftercare, they may last for about 1.5 to 2 months.

Is the UV gel adhesive safe for your eyes?2026-03-22T21:26:49+00:00

The adhesive glue meets safety standards, but in rare cases when you are unwell or have a weak immune system, allergic reactions may occur. In this case. I will have to refuse the application. In addition, since the treatment is performed with your eyes closed, you will not be able to look directly at the light. I will apply a protective tape to your eyes to perform the treatment.

How long should I wait before I can shower after getting UV lashes?2026-03-22T21:23:33+00:00

It will be completely cured in 2 seconds in the UV light, so you can shower, use the sauna, etc. immediately after the treatment.

How long should you wait between visits?2026-03-22T21:22:47+00:00

Although there are individual differences, LED extensions will last for about a month while maintaining lash integrity. Lashes grow out and the weight of a lash half grown out may add stress to a natural lash. This is why a 2-3 week refill may still be necessary.

Will LED extensions damage my eyelashes?2026-03-22T21:21:58+00:00

After application, the finish is flexible, soft and super lightweight, so you won’t feel any burden on your own eyelashes. However, please be careful not to pull at the extensions forcefully or use an eyelash curler as it will cause strain to your own eyelashes.

Are UV lash extensions safe?2026-03-22T21:20:35+00:00

We are using the Aura Monaco Beamlight system, which has been tested over 2 years in cooperation with external testing laboratories and is 100% safe for the human eye and skin. It is a German system, where safety standards are amongst the highest in the world, and it complies with all current global standards and requirements. The device is CE and FDA certified and complies with USA Standards. The LED technology itself is not new, and has been used in the dental industries for years – but has been adapted now for eyelash extensions.

At Lush Lash, we have been quite slow to adopt this technology, because we wanted to ensure that the system was very safe, that it was well-known and well-regarded, and that it was effective and actually provided a solid benefit. We are very confident in this product.

Beam Light is

  • ✅ FCC certified
  • ✅ CE certified
  • ✅ RoHS certified
  • ✅ Has an EC 62471 Test Report confirming its safety for eyes and skin

All Beam Light Glues

  • ✅ Do not contain TPO
  • ✅ Only contain TMO
What are UV/LED lash extensions?2026-03-22T21:19:24+00:00

The UV/LED lash extension system was developed by scientists and engineers. It involves a slightly altered application technique than traditional eyelash extensions. The biggest difference is the adhesive type used, and the curing technique.

A special LED lamp is used intermittently to cure each lash individually and completely. It is an advanced technique, where a high level of skill and precision are needed, but when done by an experienced professional, the results in terms of retention generally surpass those of traditional eyelash extensions. It’s safe and has been well tested and we absolutely love it!

I’ve had lash extensions before but it didn’t last. Can I get them again?2024-08-24T18:58:01+00:00

This can be based on many factors, the most important is the aftercare. Make sure you are cleansing your lashes every single day, avoiding oil or alcohol based products, cleansing right after you go swimming or working out.

If you would like to try extensions again, we recommend trying a hybrid or volume set as it is multiple lighter weight extensions wrapping around your individual natural lash to create more bond.

How long do lash extensions last?2024-08-24T18:56:54+00:00

The extensions on your natural lashes will shed after or around 4-6 weeks when properly cared for. It is recommended to get a lash fill every 2-3 weeks to maintain fullness.

Keep in mind your natural lashes do normally shed 1-5 per day – per eye, that’s why refills are so important, this also depends on your natural hair growth cycle & client aftercare.

Can I wear mascara & makeup with my extensions?2024-08-24T18:56:36+00:00

It is not recommended that you wear mascara or eyeliner after getting extension (you won’t need to anyway). The ingredients in these products can break the bond of the extensions to your natural lashes causing major loss of the extensions. It is best to avoid any oil & glycol based face products and makeup. Daily cleansing of the extensions is required to keep them clean and looking best.

What set/style should I get?2024-08-24T18:56:16+00:00

Based on your natural lashes and preferences & lifestyle, we will design a custom set for you during the consultation.

I’ve had reactions in the past, can I still get extensions?2024-08-24T18:55:59+00:00

It depends on how severe and how long ago. We can start by doing a natural set (about 20% full) again to see if a reaction will occur.

Are lash extensions safe?2024-08-24T18:55:38+00:00

Yes, when applied correctly lash extensions are completely safe and will not cause any irritation during or after your appointment. There is always a rare chance that an allergic reaction to the ingredient (cyanoacrylate) in the adhesive can occur, as with any product used near sensitive areas.

Am I a candidate for lash extensions?2024-08-24T18:55:21+00:00

Yes, if you:

  • have natural healthy lashes that wants natural noticeable enhancement to their lashes with curl, length and volumes
  • have little time to apply makeup
  • have events or occasions to attend

No, if you:

  • have damaged lashes such as gaps, breakage from previous lash extensions. we recommend taking a 2-3 months break and starting a lash serum regimen before you start getting extensions again
  • are currently doing any chemotherapy, its best to wait and let your body heal before getting extensions
  • are nursing right after delivering a new born (congrats on your little one!) hormone levels may affect your retention.
  • are unable to lay still for more than 2 hours, its best to avoid this service that may cause discomfort
I don’t have many natural lashes. Can I still get extensions?2024-08-24T18:54:55+00:00

Yes, but it depends on the health of your natural lashes. We can work with you to recommend what set is best for your natural lashes. Using a lash serum for a month prior to your lash appointment may be beneficial.

What’s the lash extension application process like?2024-08-24T18:53:17+00:00

It’s kind of like going to a spa – very relaxing and you might even fall asleep (many of our clients do!) You’ll lay back so we can properly reach your lashes from the correct angle, and your eyes will be closed during the entire process. You won’t be able to feel much during the application process – it will just feel like your lashes are being brushed.
